Little Athletics WA is designed for WA kids to get active and enjoy athletics! The program offers a wide range of events from running, jumping, throwing and walking, and are modified to suit the age, development stage and ability of the child. The emphasis is on fun, participation, performance, technique and getting involved with your family in physical and healthy activity.

 

Little Athletics promotes that it is important to Be your Best” ® To stand children in good stead throughout their life, Little Athletics contributes to the development of the fundamental skills in running, throwing and jumping by personal improvement and participation and, at the same time, emphasises family values and enjoyment. With Centres located throughout Western Australia, the Little Athletics WA Program is the perfect way to sharpen their running for AFL or soccer, improve their jump for netball, or take the first steps on their Green & Gold athletics journey.

Training: Mondays & Thursdays – High Wycombe Primary School Oval

Strive Program: Fridays – WA Athletics Stadium, Mt Claremont (for U13+ athletes aiming higher)

Little Athletics Competition: Saturdays – Belmont Athletics Centre (Little Athletics WA)

👧 Programs, Age Groups & Costs (2025–26 Season)

💡 Families can join Little Athletics WA, Strive, or Both (dual membership upgrade available).

  • Little Athletics Program: The Little Athletics WA Program is a weekly competition held on Saturday’s at the Belmont Athletics Centre. The Little Athletics program is aimed at Little Athletes (U7-U12) & Junior Athletes (U13-U18) looking to progress to State and National events.

    • Little Athletes (Born 2015–2020) → Under 7–12, modified events → Membership Cost: $226.00

    • Juniors (Born 2009–2014) → Under 13–18, full events & pathway to State/Nationals → Membership Cost: $236.20


  • Strive Program (U13+) → The Strive Program is a weekly competition held predominantly on Friday evenings at the WA Athletics Stadium in Mt Claremont. The Strive program is aimed at Junior and Senior Athletes looking to progress to State and National events.
    • Dual Membership (U13+) → Little Athletics WA Program & Strive Program → Membership Cost: $282.10 (plus small weekly event fees at Strive)

  • Registrations Opens: 1 September 2025

  • Training Starts: Thursday 18th September 2025
  • Season Runs: October 2025 – March 2026

  • WA State Relay Championships: Saturday 13th December 2025

  • WA State Combined Event Championships: 7th & 8th February 2026
  • WA Junior Championships: 20–22 February 2026 (WA Athletics Stadium)

  • Belmont Centre Championships: – 7th & 14th March 2026 (Gerry Archer)
